DESCRIPTION:
This session challenges us to reject deficit thinking and instead acknowledge and honor the vast funds of knowledge that MLs bring to our schools and classrooms. Participants will explore strategies that capitalize on those funds of knowledge and can be applied across the content areas. Participants will receive a $25 stipend.

Goals or Learning Intentions:

· Re-examine Funds of Knowledge and recognize the assets our MLs bring to our classrooms

· Define and identify deficit thinking in our classrooms

· Learn to identify and apply strategies across the content areas that build upon the strengths of MLs
