PRESENTER: Toni Kubousek, M.Ed; Director of Professional Development, Renzulli Learning LOCATION: East Central BOCES West Training Room (This is an in-person training only) DESCRIPTION: This opportunity is for ECBOCES educators who plan to use the Renzulli Learning program with gifted students or talent pool students. ECBOCES will cover the cost of the training but districts will be responsible for purchasing and covering the cost of their student licenses. Participants will need to bring a laptop as this will be an interactive training session and we will practice getting into the program to try out all of the activities. Lunch will be provided.

PRESENTER: Laura Bellizzi, Catapult Learning LOCATION: Over Zoom DESCRIPTION: This professional development series delves into the Science of Reading for K-5 teachers, offering research-based strategies to enhance reading and writing instruction across grades. Participants will explore ways to incorporate evidence-based practices aligned with the Academic Content Standards and National Reading Panel’s 5 Components of Reading and Writing: phonemic awareness, phonological awareness, vocabulary development, fluency, and comprehension. During workshops, participants will uncover strategies for supporting a diverse group of learners, including emerging readers and writers and gifted and talented students. Between each professional development session, instructional coaching opportunities will be available, providing targeted support for classroom implementation of workshop strategies. This professional development and instructional coaching series is designed to empower educators to strengthen students’ literacy skills and build confidence throughout the school year.
